Mr. Will Crook's Platinum Manufacturing Job

Project Log:
For Mr. Will Crook I did a sketch to show what a restyled copy of this platinum ring might look like, original video/scanned with the rendering beside the actual...
I didn't have a whole bunch of time for the sketch, but I'd hoped this would convey a thicker, more substantial shank, with little taper, a cross brace between two gallery holes instead of one unstable one...
Heavier construction, designed to survive in their world :)
We lost the double line on the side, distracting since the shank doesn't taper that fast :)
Something few customers see is the custom wax which is rendered as the foundation of the casting... It's heavier than it will be finished, the rails from the side view are now tilted slightly (for channelsetting reasons) but we're done with the first stage now... ..and moving right along :) We're supplying .90 Carats of baguettes and .13 carats in rounds... ...and we're coming in well under $2,500 here too...
The center is approx 2.00 carats... This is going very well at this stage :)
Here's the raw platinum casting, the finish is surface rough, this is what platinum items look like after casting and the investment is removed... "Pretty scary stuff, huh?!?!" {Grin}... Seriously, the finish will be great, much better than it might look like in this quick screen snap... This is a wonderful style too, and we're using larger baguettes (From original 3mm length to 4mm length) for a stunning upgraded look... I have a feeling that when this is delivered to Will and his bride that I'm gonna get some nice e-mail for my pages and perhaps even some food :) Food bribes are always cheerfully accepted at full service union tradeshop {Grin}...
Just had to get that "food thang" in there :) This will be going to be finished and the stone set into the mounting, which should happen this week for shipping sometime next week at the very latest... Will, this is going to be a stunning mounting...
I'm also going to replace the CZ in granny's old ring, and just sort of freshen it up a bit too, at no charge :) I absolutely "love" being able to share this with you Will, this is the behind closed door stuff which folks need to see to understand how things work :)
I'll be taking a video snap of the ring being set too... I enjoy showing the sort of projects we've become known for inside the industry, and now to a much wider audience we can share the process, the images and the ideas which are the products of the process...
Will, this is the picture of the finished platinum mounting, with the new matched baguettes set into the nice lush channels, substantially and securely to be enjoyed for a life-time... I'll ship Friday for sure, which is easy for me to say because my work is done here, and it's time to move on setting Sean's mounting...
