Highly Ornate Mounting for Alfred Harding, a totally "Unique Look"...
So, first comes the basic idea, which was defined very well by Alfred... The real test of a custom project starts when the wax is locked in, and the shape is defined. This stage is so very critical, when the stones and the shape of the mounting are rendered, and this is the place to make changes if needed, "not in the metal"... For an extreme close up, where you can begin to start to appreciate the detail to which we work, simply touch the graphic for a full screen collage of multiple views of this lovely project. When the pattern is as finely crafted as this one, you can start to expect first class results.
About now is a great time to show the rough casting, straight out of the investment after cooling after casting, with most of the investment removed. Again, this is a critical stage, where the metal has been cast into place, and if there is casting problems, or significant flaws the process must begin all over again. We cast platinum here, with really fine results, improving daily actually.
Here's a nice big panorama for your consideration, of verious shots of the rough casting. Normally one would not show a rough casting, but I think knowing how all this works can only make you have a greater appreciation of rplatinum special order, so on we go :) If the premise that "the more you know, the smarter you are" is true then you should be well versed in platinum special order by the end of this page :)
The first pattern we did was more a "pannel look", where each different surface was highly ornimented with hand engraving and millgrain, for a spectacular look. Hightly ornate and very finely crafted, this first engraving was a bit more like I wanted and a bit less like the pattern the customer had in mind, so I changed it as soon as I got these nice photos. While only video-snaps, and fairly low rez, I do think that the engraving and attention to detail show much about our work.
Built to resemble a shank of Laurel Leaves, in a sort of Roman like style, I restyled this ring, totally re-engraved and redesigned the style to be just exactly what the customer wanted. Note that the design has changed greatly from the original style, and now the ring is exactly what Alfred had in mind. This ring is a great example of both the attention to detail to which we work, as well as a very good example of the sort of product you can expect from us... We enjoy building fine jewelry, and we really love platinum.
So, if you thought that you couldn't afford platinum special order like this you're wrong, we can build you a finely detailed mounting for well under a thousand dollars, making top quality affordable again. So, now you know... FAX (503) 256-3794 today!
