Radiant Cuts
This cut, the radiant, is one of my most favorite cuts of all for the fancy shapes. I look for an aspect ratio of 1.2-1.5:1 and for a depth around the mid sixties. Many Radiant cuts are cut with nearly square shapes, but the stones are always clipped corners. You'll find that the table sizes will vary greatly, much more than in the round cuts, but yer still looking for a lower sixties table to pull the crown facets into the center and you'll find that with a controlled table size that you gain a more lively stone by far. Watch out for excess depth, it will cost you the measurable size that you want... Depths are fine in the mid sizties, but really watch out for stones which are extremely deep, which will really cost you the appearant size you want... You can buy a carat stone which looks like a 3/4 carat easier in this cut than in most...
